Good to know

Questions, answered

Four jars, a few things worth knowing. If your question is not here, write to us — we answer every message.

How should I store my jar?

Somewhere cool and dry, out of direct sunlight. A cupboard is better than a windowsill. There is no need to refrigerate any of the four — refrigerating honey in particular makes it stiff and hard to spoon.

My honey has gone grainy. Is it still good?

Yes. Raw honey crystallizes over time — it is a sign the honey has not been heavily processed, not a sign it has spoiled. Stand the jar in warm (not boiling) water for a few minutes and stir, and it will loosen back up.

What makes the saffron honey different?

Raw honey steeped with Persian saffron threads rather than flavoured after the fact. That is the whole ingredient list. The saffron gives it a floral warmth up front and a faint, pleasant bitterness at the end.

How do I use these day to day?

A spoon of honey in tea or over yogurt and labneh. Cardamom maple over pancakes, oats or roasted vegetables. Cocoa whisked into hot milk. Granola with milk, or by the handful.
